BC Place

BC Place is centrally located in Vancouver's False Creek neighborhood, within the downtown core. Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is about 9 miles south, connected by the Canada Line SkyTrain which reaches downtown in 25 minutes. The Stadium-Chinatown SkyTrain station (Expo and Millennium Lines) is directly adjacent to BC Place. Multiple TransLink bus routes serve the area along Beatty Street, Pacific Boulevard, and Georgia Street. Given its central location, many downtown hotels are within walking distance. Limited parking is available at nearby garages on Expo Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard; public transit is the best option. Rideshare drop-off is along Griffiths Way and Terry Fox Way.

Yaletown, immediately south of BC Place, is a converted warehouse district with upscale restaurants, cocktail bars, and waterfront patios along Hamilton and Mainland Streets. Gastown (about 10 minutes east on foot) is Vancouver's historic heart with cobblestone streets, the famous Steam Clock, craft beer bars, and independent restaurants along Water Street. Chinatown, adjacent to the stadium's SkyTrain stop, is one of North America's largest and offers authentic dim sum, night markets, and the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden — ideal for a pre-match cultural experience.

BC Place will follow FIFA's World Cup bag policy during tournament matches. Expect a clear bag policy allowing only transparent bags no larger than 12" x 6" x 12" and small clutch purses or wallets. Backpacks, oversized bags, professional camera equipment, selfie sticks, coolers, and umbrellas are typically prohibited at FIFA events. Medical necessities and small diaper bags are generally permitted after security inspection. BC Place normally allows slightly larger bags during regular Whitecaps matches, but FIFA World Cup rules will supersede the venue's standard policy — always refer to the official FIFA 2026 event guide for final entry requirements.
