Estadio Akron

Estadio Akron is located in the Zapopan municipality on the western edge of the Guadalajara metropolitan area. Guadalajara International Airport (GDL) is approximately 20 miles east. The Mi Macro Periférico BRT (bus rapid transit) line runs along the Anillo Periférico beltway and has a stop near the stadium area, making it the best public transit option. The Guadalajara light rail (Línea 1 and Línea 2) serves the city center but does not reach the stadium directly; a transfer to bus or taxi is needed from the Periférico Norte stations. Uber and DiDi are widely available. Parking lots surround the stadium, accessible from Avenida de las Rosas and the Periférico.

Chapalita, a leafy residential neighborhood near the stadium, has a growing restaurant and café scene along Avenida Guadalupe with local eateries, craft beer spots, and traditional birriería restaurants. Downtown Guadalajara's Centro Histórico (about 30 minutes east) features the iconic Hospicio Cabañas, the Mercado San Juan de Dios, mezcal bars, and mariachi music at Plaza de los Mariachis. Tlaquepaque, the famous artisan village (about 25 minutes southeast), offers cobblestone streets lined with galleries, handcraft shops, tequila tasting rooms, and colorful restaurants along Calle Independencia.

Estadio Akron will follow FIFA's World Cup bag policy during the tournament. Only small clear bags no larger than 12" x 6" x 12" are expected to be permitted. Small clutch purses and wallets are allowed. Backpacks, large bags, coolers, selfie sticks, professional cameras, and umbrellas are typically prohibited under FIFA event regulations. Medical necessities and small diaper bags are usually permitted with inspection.
